Korean Entertainment Industry

Korean Wave Music is a kind of popular music culture that is becoming a trend in South Korea. Korean Wave Music or more commonly known with Korean Pop Music or K-Pop is a big part of the Korean Wave (K-Drama included). Now K-Pop has been worldwide, including Indonesia, with many idols’s concerts abroad like Super Junior, JYJ, TVXQ, SHINee, Girls Generation, BIGBANG, 2NE1, 2PM, Wonder Girls and many more. Even girlband Wonder Girls and Boyband JYJ has released their English-language album in USA.

            Performance maybe the main reason why the fans of K-Pop idols idolize them, either face appearance or clothes when they perform. Cute boys and cool girls are more enthused than manly boys and feminine girls. They usually do a face surgery before they debut (first performance as an artist). The most part of face that they want to change is eye. The do the eye surgery to change their eye to look bigger and more beautiful. Even there’s an idol that change 90% of their face to look more beautiful than her natural face.  Second, the ability or talent that they have. A K-Pop idol before they become an idol, usually they are trained in advance by an entertainment agency that select them through auditions that were held. An agency will take teenagers in age 12 till 17 to be their trainee. The trainees have to pass 3 level audition, each level has their own different difficulty. And when they are be a trainee in an agency, their financial life will be financed by the agency. But when they have to be an idol, an agency will not finance their life anymore. They must repay to their agency the financial life that the agency drop out for.  Average of practice or trial of K-Pop idol for about 3 to 5 years, even up to 9 years. There is no instant career to be an artist in Korea. Most of parents in Korea want their child to be an artist, because they think when their child be an artist, it will make their future bright. Becoming a trainee of an agency is not easy as we think. Sometimes they must stop their study to be more focus in their career. The third is from their personal lifes that can be known from the opinion of some persons nearest K-Pop idol. Unique and interesting personality will make fans more idolize their K-Pop idol. The competition of entertainment industry in Korea is very very hard and it is so difficult. They have to sacrifice something special in their life to win the competition. They will try to win  the award every year in award event. That is like a result of their hard work in a year. Korean entertainment industry has a bad behaviour for the artist. Sometimes the artist got so much pressure from their agency and their fans that too love them. The fans will not let their idol to had a love relationship with another. They will got so much jealous and they will do anything to vanish that scandal.

            So, if we want to be a superstar, we must practice diligently, dress well, and have a good personality.
